Power Skating Instruction
Linda Boryski is a certified power skating instructor with over 20 years of experience. Linda’s programs are based on the latest in sport science as she continually uses her expertise in physical therapy to give her students the best possible instruction. Linda has experience working with athletes of all levels from beginners to NHL and College ranks. Many of Linda’s power skating programs include the use of Dartfish.

dartfish

Dartfish is an advanced video analysis software used by many leaders in the sporting and fitness industry. This software allows Linda to use video analysis to further correct skating deficiencies. Posture and stride mechanics are easily analyzed using on-screen drawing and tracking features. The analysis can help detect physical limitations, such as muscle imbalances or insufficient flexibility. Linda then uses her physical therapy skills to address the physical limitations by prescribing corrective exercises. This leads to a more efficient and powerful skating stride.

Along with Dartfish, Linda’s uses a number of tools to enhance her programs. Resistance belts, parachutes, reaction belts and medicine balls are some of the equipment used to train for speed, agility, quickness and power.

Power Skating Programs
Power Skating Instructor Linda Boryski teaches ALL power skating sessions for Edge Conditioning.

HOCKEY TEAM INSTRUCTION
Hockey coaches can arrange to bring Edge Conditioning out to their team’s practices. Here, Linda will teach the entire team AND coaching staff. The sessions will be tailor-made to build on where the coaching staff feels team improvements are necessary. With the coaches participating in the skating sessions, they can continue to reinforce Linda’s skating principles during all of their practices and game situations.

Power skating packages start from a basic series of 4 sessions and get increasingly more comprehensive.

Sessions available year round.

PRIVATE AND SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION
In individual or small group settings, Linda is able to accurately assess and diagnose movement dysfunction in the skating stride. The athlete is then educated regarding the breakdown of the skating stride and what is needed to improve it.

Follow up ice sessions allow for Linda and her assistants to prescribe exercises and practice drills to correct any dysfunction. Further sessions are used to strengthen the new and improved skating skills.

The key to a good learning environment is individual attention. Linda’s small groups have a maximum of 14 participants. With 1-2 well-trained assistants, the student-teacher ratio is 7-1 maximum.
